You Called It Sky

Devotion

You Called It Sky

In Genesis 1:8, God does something simple—but powerful. He separates the waters and calls the space between them “sky.”

That space matters.

Without it, there’s no breathing room. No atmosphere. No place for life to exist. What looks like “empty space” is actually intentional design.

And that’s how God often works in our lives.

There are seasons where it feels like we’re in between—
between clarity and confusion,
between promise and fulfillment,
between where we were and where we’re going.

It can feel uncertain. Even uncomfortable.

But God is not absent in the in-between.

He is forming space.

Space to grow.
Space to trust.
Space to become who He’s calling you to be.

The same voice that separated the waters in Genesis is still speaking today. He is still bringing order to chaos. Still creating purpose out of nothing. Still calling things by name—including you.

If you feel like you’re in a season of waiting or uncertainty, don’t rush past it.

God might be doing His most important work there.

He’s making room for something new.

Prayer:
God, You are the One who speaks and creates. Even when I don’t understand where I am, I trust that You are working. In the spaces that feel empty or uncertain, help me to hear Your voice. Speak peace over my chaos, clarity over my confusion, and purpose over my life. I believe that what You have started, You will finish. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Your Words Won’t Fade

Devotion

Your Words Won’t Fade

We spend so much of our lives building things that feel permanent—plans, careers, relationships, routines. But if we’re honest, we’ve all seen how quickly things can change.

In Mark 13:28–31, Jesus points to something simple: a fig tree. When its leaves begin to grow, you know summer is near. In the same way, He’s telling us to pay attention—to recognize the times, to stay awake, and to understand that this world is not as permanent as it feels.

Then He makes a bold statement:
Heaven and earth will pass away—but His words won’t.

That’s a shift in perspective.

It means the most stable thing in your life isn’t your situation—it’s His voice.
It means when everything feels uncertain, you’re not actually standing on something fragile—you’re standing on something eternal.

The challenge is this:
Are we building our lives on what’s temporary, or what’s unshakable?

It’s easy to get distracted. Jesus even warns about that in this passage—about not losing focus, not getting lulled into spiritual sleep. Because when we forget what lasts, we start living like everything else matters more.

But when you anchor your life in His Word, everything changes.

You don’t panic when things shift.
You don’t lose hope when things fall apart.
You don’t define your future by what you see right now.

Because you know—His promises still stand.

Reflection:
What in your life feels unstable right now?
Have you been anchoring yourself in God’s Word, or in changing circumstances?

Prayer:
God, help me to build my life on what lasts. When everything around me feels uncertain, remind me that Your Word is still true. Teach me to stay awake, to trust You fully, and to hold onto every promise You’ve spoken. Amen.

Not My Will (Yours Be Done)

Devotion:

Not My Will (Yours Be Done)

There’s something deeply uncomfortable about Mark 14:36.

Jesus—fully aware of what’s ahead—asks if there’s another way.
“Take this cup from me.”
It’s honest. It’s raw. It’s human.

But He doesn’t stop there.

Yet not what I will, but what You will.”

That’s the turning point.

We often come to God hoping He’ll remove the hard thing.
The pressure. The waiting. The unknown.

And sometimes He does.

But sometimes… He doesn’t.

And in those moments, faith becomes something deeper than belief—it becomes surrender.

Surrender isn’t giving up.
It’s trusting that God sees more than you do.
It’s choosing His will even when it costs you comfort.
It’s saying, “I don’t like this… but I trust You in it.”

Jesus shows us that it’s okay to be honest with God about what we feel.
But He also shows us that peace is found on the other side of surrender.

So today, whatever “cup” is in front of you—
the thing you wish would pass—
bring it to God.

Tell Him how you feel.
Don’t hold back.

But don’t stop there.

Lean into trust.

Prayer:
Father, You see what I’m facing. You know how hard this feels. If there’s another way, I would choose it—but more than that, I want Your will. Teach me to trust You even when I don’t understand. Give me strength to surrender again today. Not my will, but Yours be done. Amen.

Worth Everything

Devotion:

Worth Everything

Scripture: Matthew 13:44
“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.”

There’s something striking about this parable—the man doesn’t hesitate.

He doesn’t negotiate.
He doesn’t weigh pros and cons.
He doesn’t delay.

He sees the treasure, and with joy, he gives up everything to have it.

That detail matters: with joy.

Following Jesus is often framed as sacrifice—and it is—but this parable reframes it. It’s not just about what you lose… it’s about what you’ve found.

When you truly see Jesus for who He is—His goodness, His love, His kingdom—everything else starts to lose its grip. Things you once clung to don’t feel as valuable anymore. Not because they were all bad, but because they were never meant to compete with Him.

The man in the story didn’t give everything away because he had to.
He did it because he wanted to.

That’s what happens when your heart is captured by something greater.

Maybe today you’re feeling the tension of letting go—of control, comfort, a привычка, a plan, or even a version of your life you thought you needed.

Ask yourself honestly:
Do I really believe Jesus is worth everything?

Because if He is… then surrender isn’t loss.
It’s the exchange of something temporary for something eternal.

Prayer:
Jesus, open my eyes to see You as the treasure You truly are.
Help me release anything I’m holding onto that keeps me from fully following You.
Give me a heart that responds with joy, not fear.
You are worth everything—and I choose You again today. Amen.

In Your Plan

Devotion:

In Your Plan

There’s a quiet lie many of us believe:
That we’re unnoticed.

Not important enough.
Not significant enough.
Just another life in a massive world.

But Jesus speaks directly against that.

In Matthew 10:30, He says that even the hairs on your head are all counted. That’s not poetic exaggeration—it’s a statement about attention, care, and intimacy. God doesn’t just generally love you… He knows you in detail.

That changes everything.

It means:

Your life is not accidental

Your struggles are not unseen

Your story is not insignificant

If God pays attention to something as small as a single strand of hair, then there is no part of your life beneath His care.

So when you feel overlooked… remember this:
You are living in His plan, not outside of it.

Even in seasons that feel confusing or quiet, He hasn’t lost track of you. He hasn’t skipped over your story. He hasn’t forgotten your name.

You are fully seen.
Fully known.
Fully held.

Reflection:
Where in your life have you been feeling unseen or overlooked?

Prayer:
God, thank You for knowing me in every detail. Help me trust that my life is in Your hands, even when I don’t understand the season I’m in. Remind me that I am seen, valued, and never forgotten. Amen.

Faithful in My House

Devotion:

Faithful in My House

Scripture: Psalm 101:6–8

There’s a difference between what we say we believe and what we allow to stay.

In Psalm 101, David makes a bold commitment—not just about public leadership, but about private living. He talks about who will be in his house, what voices will be allowed, and what kind of behavior won’t be tolerated.

This isn’t just about a physical home. It’s about the space of your life—your thoughts, your habits, your influences, your inner circle.

The truth is, we all let things in that don’t belong.
Compromise creeps in quietly.
Distractions feel harmless.
Small things go unchecked.

But over time, those things shape the atmosphere of our “house.”

This song is a prayer:
God, make my life a place where You are comfortable.

Faithfulness isn’t perfection—it’s alignment.
It’s choosing truth when no one is watching.
It’s shutting doors that lead you away from who God is calling you to be.

Today, ask yourself:
What have I allowed in that God is asking me to remove?

And maybe more importantly:
What kind of atmosphere am I creating for His presence?

Prayer:
God, search my heart. Show me anything in my life that doesn’t reflect You. Give me the courage to shut the wrong doors and open the right ones. Make my life a place where You are welcome—fully, completely, without compromise. Amen.

Good Soil

Devotion:

Good Soil

Scripture: Matthew 13:1–9

Jesus tells a story about a farmer scattering seed. Some falls on the path, some on rocky ground, some among thorns, and some on good soil. The same seed—different outcomes—based entirely on the condition of the ground.

That ground is our heart.

God is always speaking. Always planting truth, direction, and life into us. But the question isn’t if He’s speaking—it’s how we’re receiving it.

Some of us hear God, but it never sinks in.
Some receive it quickly, but it fades under pressure.
Some let it get choked out by stress, distraction, or chasing other things.

And then there’s good soil.

Good soil isn’t perfect—it’s prepared.
It’s soft, open, and willing to be changed.

That’s what this song is really about: not striving, but surrender.

Asking God to break up the hard places.
To remove what doesn’t belong.
To create space for something real to grow.

Because when His Word takes root, it doesn’t just stay small—it multiplies. Thirty, sixty, a hundred times over.

Reflection:
What condition is your heart in right now?

Prayer:
God, make my heart good soil. Break what’s hard, clear what’s crowded, and plant Your truth deep in me. Let it grow into something that lasts. Amen.

Appointed to Life

Devotion

Appointed to Life (Acts 13:48)

Scripture:
“...and all who were appointed for eternal life believed.” — Acts 13:48

There’s something deeply humbling about this verse.

It flips the way we often think about faith. We tend to believe that we found God—that we figured it out, made a decision, chose wisely. But Acts 13:48 tells a different story.

God chose first.

Before you ever wrestled with doubt…
Before you ever prayed your first prayer…
Before you ever said “yes”…

He had already written your name into His story.

That means your faith isn’t an accident.
Your hunger for God isn’t random.
The way your heart responds to Him—that’s intentional.

You were appointed to life.

And that word “appointed” carries weight. It means set in place, marked out, established with purpose. God didn’t just hope you’d come to Him—He made a way for you to believe.

So when the song says:
“I believe ‘cause You chose me first…”
—it’s not just poetic. It’s truth.

Today’s Reflection:
Where in your life do you feel like things are random or uncertain? What if God has been working there all along?

Prayer:
God, thank You that my story didn’t start with me—it started with You. Thank You for choosing me, calling me, and opening my eyes to believe. Help me walk confidently in the life You’ve appointed for me. Amen.

HIGHER THAN THE SKY

Devotion

Scripture: Psalm 36:5
“Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens, Your faithfulness to the skies.”

There are moments when life feels overwhelming—when your perspective shrinks to the size of your problems. Deadlines, disappointments, mistakes, uncertainty—they all try to convince you that you’re stuck and alone.

But Psalm 36:5 shifts your perspective upward.

God’s love isn’t measured by your situation. It’s measured by the heavens.

That means His love is not only bigger than your worst day—it’s beyond your ability to fully comprehend. It stretches past your failures, beyond your fears, and into every space where you feel unworthy or unseen.

And His faithfulness? It doesn’t run dry. Not when you mess up. Not when you doubt. Not when you feel distant.

He is constant.

The truth is, you don’t have to chase God down. He’s already reaching toward you—higher, deeper, and farther than you could ever go on your own.

So today, lift your eyes.

Let your perspective rise above what you feel and fix your heart on what is true:
His love is higher. His faithfulness is steady. And He’s not letting go of you.

Prayer:
God, thank You that Your love is bigger than anything I face. When I feel overwhelmed, help me lift my eyes and trust in Your faithfulness. Remind me that I am never outside the reach of Your love. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Slow To Anger

Daily Devotion

Scripture: Psalm 145:8
“The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love.”

We often assume God reacts the way people do.

When we mess up, we expect distance.
When we fail again, we expect frustration.
When we drift, we expect Him to pull away.

But Psalm 145:8 tells a completely different story.

God is gracious.
God is compassionate.
God is slow to anger.

That means He’s not looking for a reason to push you away — He’s looking for every reason to bring you back.

Where we are inconsistent, He is steady.
Where we are impatient, He is kind.
Where we give up easily, He stays.

The truth is, God already knows your worst moments — and still chooses mercy.

That’s what makes His love different.

So instead of running from Him today, come back.
Not cleaned up. Not perfect. Just honest.

Because His posture toward you hasn’t changed.

Reflection:
Where have you been expecting judgment from God instead of mercy?

Prayer:
God, thank You for being patient with me. Thank You for not reacting the way I expect, but loving me better than I deserve. Help me to come back to You quickly, without fear. Remind my heart that You are always gracious, always compassionate, and always full of love. Amen.
