No Other Name
Key Scripture
"And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." — Acts 4:12
The Name Above Every Name
Names matter. They identify us, connect us to our families, and become part of our story. Throughout history, people have looked to famous names for leadership, protection, or influence. Yet every human name eventually fades with time.
Only one name remains forever.
The name of Jesus is unlike any other because it carries the authority of God Himself. His name isn't simply a label—it represents His character, His power, His mercy, and His saving work on the cross.
When Peter boldly declared that there is "no other name," he wasn't being narrow-minded. He was proclaiming the greatest news the world has ever heard: God has provided one perfect Savior for all people.
Jesus didn't come to point us toward salvation. He is salvation.
Why His Name Is Enough
Our culture often tells us there are many paths to peace, fulfillment, or God. Scripture lovingly but clearly points us to one Savior.
Jesus alone lived without sin.
Jesus alone carried our sins to the cross.
Jesus alone conquered death by rising again.
Jesus alone offers forgiveness that cannot be earned.
Because of Him, we don't have to strive to become acceptable to God. We simply come in faith, trusting what Christ has already accomplished.
The power has never been in our performance. The power is in His finished work.
Calling on His Name
Romans tells us that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. That promise isn't reserved for people with perfect lives or spotless records. It's for anyone who comes with humble faith.
Perhaps today you're carrying regret.
Maybe you're overwhelmed by fear.
Perhaps you've wandered far from God.
Or maybe you've faithfully followed Jesus for years and simply need fresh encouragement.
Whatever your situation, His invitation remains the same:
"Come to Me."
His name still brings forgiveness.
His name still brings peace.
His name still gives hope.
His name still saves.
Living for His Name
Receiving Jesus is only the beginning.
As believers, we are called to honor His name in the way we speak, work, forgive, love, and serve. Our lives become living testimonies that point others to Christ.
People may forget our accomplishments, but they will remember the kindness, grace, and faithfulness that reflected Jesus through us.
Every act of love becomes another opportunity to make His name known.
Prayer
Lord Jesus,
Thank You that there is no other name like Yours. Thank You for dying in my place and rising again so I could have eternal life. Forgive me for the times I've looked elsewhere for hope or security. Help me trust You completely and live in a way that honors Your holy name. Let my words, my choices, and my worship point others to You. May Your name always be lifted high in my life.
Amen.
Reflection
Whose name or what achievement have I been tempted to rely on instead of Jesus?
How can my life today point someone toward the only name that truly saves?
Closing Thought
Long after kingdoms rise and fall, trends disappear, and human achievements are forgotten, one name will still be worshiped in heaven and on earth.
Jesus.
There has never been—and there will never be—No Other Name.
