Never Let Me Go

Held by Stronger Hands

There are days when faith feels effortless and days when it feels like you're hanging on by a thread. We all experience seasons of exhaustion, grief, temptation, unanswered questions, or unexpected loss. During those moments, it's easy to wonder whether we'll have enough strength to keep following Jesus.

The wonderful news of the gospel is that our hope does not rest on the strength of our grip on Christ—it rests on the strength of His grip on us.

Jesus describes Himself as the Good Shepherd. A good shepherd doesn't abandon a sheep because it stumbles or wanders. He searches, rescues, carries, and protects. His commitment isn't based on the sheep's perfection but on His own faithful character.

When Jesus says, "No one will snatch them out of My hand," He offers profound assurance. His promise isn't temporary or conditional on our flawless performance. He has paid for our salvation through His death and resurrection, and He continues to shepherd His people every day. His hands—the same hands stretched out on the cross—are strong enough to keep us.

That doesn't mean believers never struggle. Scripture is honest about the reality of hardship. We face trials, doubts, persecution, and spiritual battles. Yet none of those things are greater than the love of God. As Paul writes in Romans 8, nothing in all creation can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Perhaps today you feel weary. Maybe you've stumbled. Maybe you've been carrying guilt, fear, or disappointment. Instead of trying to prove yourself worthy, come back to the Shepherd. His grace is greater than your failures. His mercy is new every morning. His love is steadfast.

God never asks you to carry your life alone. He invites you to trust the One who never grows tired, never loses sight of you, and never lets go.

Rest in that promise today. You are held—not by your own strength—but by His everlasting love.

Prayer

Father,

Thank You that my security rests in Your faithfulness, not my own strength. When I am weak, remind me that Your hands are strong enough to hold me. When fear tries to overwhelm me, fill my heart with the peace that comes from knowing I belong to You.

Help me trust You in every season. Keep my eyes fixed on Jesus, my Good Shepherd, and let my life reflect the confidence that comes from being securely held in Your love.

Thank You for never abandoning me, never forgetting me, and never letting me go.
