The Son Of Man Reigns

Scripture: Daniel 7:13–14

"I saw one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven... He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away." — Daniel 7:13–14

When Jesus called Himself the Son of Man, He wasn't simply emphasizing His humanity. He was pointing to the incredible prophecy in Daniel—a vision of the coming King who would receive everlasting authority from God Himself.

Throughout His earthly ministry, Jesus lived in humility. He walked dusty roads, healed the sick, welcomed sinners, and ultimately gave His life on the cross. Many expected a political ruler, but He came first as the suffering Savior.

The resurrection changed everything.

The One who wore a crown of thorns now wears many crowns. The One who stood before earthly judges now reigns as Judge over all creation. The One who was mocked is now worshiped by angels.

His kingdom isn't temporary. Governments rise and fall. Nations change. Cultures shift. But the reign of Christ remains forever.

Knowing that Jesus reigns changes the way we face life. We don't have to live in fear when the world feels unstable. We don't have to lose hope when circumstances seem overwhelming. The King who conquered death is still on His throne, and nothing catches Him by surprise.

Because the Son of Man reigns, our prayers have confidence. Our worship has purpose. Our future has certainty.

Today, choose to trust His authority over every concern you carry. Lay your fears before the King whose dominion will never end. He is still building His kingdom, still saving lives, still changing hearts, and still calling people to Himself.

One day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Until that glorious day, may our lives proclaim what heaven already knows:

The Son of Man reigns forever.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank You for being my Savior and my King. Thank You that Your reign is everlasting and that nothing is beyond Your authority. Help me trust You when life feels uncertain and remind me that You are always on the throne. May my life reflect Your kingdom, my words bring You glory, and my heart remain surrendered to Your will. I worship You today as the risen and reigning King of kings. Amen.

Reflection

What area of your life do you need to surrender today to the authority of the reigning Son of Man?
