Strongholds Fall

Strongholds Fall

Scripture:
2 Corinthians 10:4–5

For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds… and take every thought captive to obey Christ.”

Devotion

Some of the hardest battles we fight are invisible.

They happen in our thoughts—where fear whispers, where shame repeats old failures, and where lies try to convince us that things will never change.

But God’s Word tells us something powerful: we are not defenseless in that battle.

Through Christ, we have spiritual weapons that carry divine power. Truth tears down lies. Faith silences fear. The Word of God breaks mental strongholds that once seemed impossible to overcome.

A stronghold is simply a lie we’ve believed for so long that it feels like truth.

Maybe it sounds like:
“I’m not good enough.”
“I’ll never change.”
“God can’t use me.”
“My past defines me.”

But when we bring those thoughts into the light of Christ, they lose their power.

Instead of letting thoughts control us, Scripture tells us to take them captive—to measure them against what God says.

And when God’s truth becomes the loudest voice in our lives, strongholds begin to fall.

Freedom doesn’t start with changing your circumstances.

It starts with changing what you believe.

Prayer

Lord,
You see the battles happening in my mind.
The fears, doubts, and lies that try to take root in my heart.

Today I bring every thought before You.
Help me recognize what is not from You.
Replace every lie with Your truth.

Give me strength to take my thoughts captive and bring them under the authority of Christ.

Tear down every stronghold in my life, and fill my mind with Your peace and truth.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
