In Psalm 139:23–24, David doesn’t ask God to bless his plans or fix his circumstances first. He asks God to search him. That’s not a surface-level prayer. That’s a surrender prayer.
Because real transformation doesn’t start with behavior change—it starts with honesty in the presence of God.
And here’s the tension: we often want God’s comfort without His correction. We want peace without exposure. But love that heals also reveals.

God doesn’t search you to shame you. He searches you to restore you.
