Never Stop Praying

Devotion: Never Stop Praying

Scripture:
"Then Jesus told His disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up." — Luke 18:1

Prayer is often easiest when answers come quickly. We pray, God responds, and our faith is strengthened. But what about the seasons when heaven seems quiet? What about the prayers we've carried for months or even years?

Luke 18 begins with Jesus giving the purpose of the parable before He even tells the story: pray always and do not give up.

That instruction reveals something important. Jesus knew there would be moments when giving up would feel tempting. He knew there would be days when answers would seem delayed and circumstances would challenge our faith.

Persistent prayer is not about convincing a reluctant God to care. It is about staying connected to a loving Father who already cares deeply. Prayer changes us as much as it changes circumstances. Every prayer is an act of trust that says, "God, I still believe You are working, even when I cannot see it."

Faithfulness in prayer is not measured by immediate results. It is measured by continued trust.

Today, if you're carrying a burden, a dream, a need, or a promise that seems distant, remember that God has not forgotten you. The God who hears your first prayer hears your thousandth prayer as well.

Keep knocking. Keep seeking. Keep asking.

He is listening.

Prayer

Father, thank You that You hear every prayer I bring to You. When answers seem delayed, help me trust Your timing. Strengthen my faith when I grow weary and remind me that You are always working, even when I cannot see it. Teach me to pray without giving up and to rest in Your faithfulness every day. In Jesus' name, Amen.
