Devotion: Let Love Remain
Scripture
"Let brotherly love continue." — Hebrews 13:1
Devotion
Some of the most profound truths in Scripture are also the simplest.
Hebrews 13:1 contains only a few words, yet it captures the heart of Christian living: Let love remain.
The writer isn't telling believers to create love from nothing. The love already exists because Christ first loved us. Instead, we're called to keep that love active, alive, and visible.
Love remains when we choose forgiveness over bitterness.
Love remains when we show kindness to someone who can offer us nothing in return.
Love remains when we encourage instead of criticize.
Love remains when we see people through the eyes of Jesus.
The world often teaches us to love only when it's convenient, but Christ demonstrated a different kind of love—a sacrificial love that endures through hardship, disappointment, and misunderstanding.
As followers of Jesus, we become living reflections of that love.
Today, ask God to help His love remain in your heart, your words, and your actions. You may never know how one act of Christ-like love could change someone's life forever.
Prayer
Father,
Thank You for loving me when I didn't deserve it. Thank You for showing me mercy, grace, and compassion through Jesus Christ.
Help me to love others the way You love me. Remove bitterness, pride, and selfishness from my heart. Fill me with Your Spirit so that kindness, forgiveness, and compassion flow naturally from my life.
Let Your love remain in me when circumstances are difficult and when relationships are strained. Use me to encourage others, strengthen the Church, and point people toward Jesus.
May my life reflect Your love every day.
In Jesus' name,
Amen. ❤️
