Devotion: Let It Shine
Scripture
Matthew 25:15
"To one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability..."
Devotional Thought
One of the easiest traps to fall into is comparing ourselves to others.
We see someone with greater influence, greater resources, greater opportunities, or greater talents, and we begin to wonder if what we've been given really matters.
But in Matthew 25, Jesus reveals something important: God doesn't give everyone the same assignment. He gives according to His wisdom and purpose.
The servant with five talents wasn't expected to be the servant with two. The servant with two wasn't expected to be the servant with five. Both were simply called to be faithful with what they had received.
The same is true for us.
God isn't asking you to be someone else. He's asking you to faithfully use what He's already placed in your hands.
Your kindness matters.
Your testimony matters.
Your encouragement matters.
Your service matters.
Your worship matters.
The question isn't whether you've been given enough. The question is whether you're willing to trust God with what you've been given.
When surrendered to Him, even the smallest gift can become a powerful light that points others to Christ.
Don't hide it.
Don't minimize it.
Don't compare it.
Let it shine.
Prayer
Father, thank You for every gift, opportunity, and blessing You have entrusted to me. Forgive me for comparing myself to others or doubting what You have placed in my hands. Help me to faithfully use everything You've given me for Your glory. Let my life shine in a way that points people to Jesus. May I be faithful in the small things and trust You with the results. In Jesus' name, Amen. 🙏
