Devotional Thought - In The Fire
Scripture: 1 Peter 4:12
None of us asks for the fire.
It may come as illness, loss, disappointment, broken relationships, unanswered prayers, or seasons when God feels silent. Yet throughout Scripture, God never promises that His children will avoid hardship. Instead, He promises something even greater—His presence.
When Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were thrown into the blazing furnace, the king expected destruction. Instead, he saw four men walking freely in the fire, and one looked like the Son of God. The fire that was meant to destroy them became the place where God's presence was most clearly revealed.
Sometimes the greatest miracle isn't escaping the fire. Sometimes it's discovering that Jesus has been walking beside you through it all.
The flames may burn away fear, pride, or misplaced trust, but they cannot separate you from God's love. His faithfulness is stronger than the hottest furnace, and His promises remain true even when circumstances seem impossible.
If you're in the fire today, don't lose heart. God sees you. He knows your pain. He walks with you, strengthens you, and will bring glory from what you're enduring.
You're not alone.
He is with you—in the fire.
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You that You never leave me when life becomes difficult. Thank You for walking beside me through every trial, every disappointment, and every season of pain.
Help me to trust You even when I cannot see the outcome. Replace my fear with faith, my anxiety with peace, and my weakness with Your strength.
May the fire draw me closer to You instead of pushing me away. Let my life become a testimony of Your faithfulness so others will know You are the God who never abandons His children.
