Devotion – If It's Not Your Voice
Scripture
"My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me." — John 10:27
Every day we're surrounded by voices.
Some tell us we're not enough.
Some tempt us to chase success at any cost.
Some whisper fear, doubt, or discouragement.
But there is one voice that never lies.
The voice of Jesus brings peace instead of panic, truth instead of confusion, and hope instead of despair. His voice doesn't always shout above the noise—it often comes as a gentle reminder through Scripture, prayer, and the quiet work of the Holy Spirit.
Learning to recognize His voice takes time. It comes from spending time in His Word, talking with Him daily, and walking with Him faithfully.
The more we know the Shepherd, the easier it becomes to recognize His voice.
Today, ask yourself:
"Is this leading me closer to Jesus, or farther away?"
If it's not His voice...
don't follow it.
Choose the voice that has never failed you.
Prayer
Father,
There are so many voices competing for my attention. Help me recognize Yours above them all. Give me wisdom to reject every lie and courage to obey wherever You lead. Teach me to listen carefully, trust completely, and follow faithfully.
May my heart always say:
"If it's not Your voice, I don't want to follow."
In Jesus' name,
Amen.
