Devotion – Hold To The Flame
Hold To The Flame
There are seasons when it feels easier to give up than to keep believing. Trials come. Prayers seem unanswered. The world grows louder while God's voice can seem quiet. Yet Scripture reminds us that God's light has never gone out.
Holding to the flame isn't about having perfect faith. It's about refusing to let go of the One who is faithful.
God has entrusted every believer with His truth. We don't create the light—we simply carry it. When fear whispers that darkness is winning, remember that even the smallest flame pushes darkness back.
The flame is His Word.
The flame is His Spirit.
The flame is the hope we have in Christ.
As long as we stay close to Jesus, He supplies everything needed to keep that flame burning.
Today, if your faith feels weak, don't focus on the size of your flame. Focus on the One who lit it.
He will sustain what He has begun.
Scripture
"Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven." — Matthew 5:16 (ESV)
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for placing Your light within us. When life is difficult, help us remain faithful. Strengthen us to stand firm in Your truth and never let discouragement extinguish the hope You've given us.
Teach us to shine with humility, love, and courage so that others will see Jesus through our lives.
Keep our hearts close to You, and help us hold to the flame until the day we see You face to face.
In Jesus' name,
Amen.
