Daily Devotion — Eyes Open Wide
Scripture: John 2:11
“This, the first of his signs, Jesus did at Cana in Galilee, and manifested his glory. And his disciples believed in him.” (John 2:11)
Jesus’ first miracle happened at a wedding in a small town called Cana. On the surface it looked like a simple act—turning water into wine. But it was far more than solving an awkward problem at a celebration. It was a moment where Jesus revealed who He truly was. In that moment, the disciples saw His glory, and their faith deepened.
Before this, they were following Jesus with curiosity and hope. After this, their eyes began to open to the reality that the One walking beside them was not just a teacher—He was the Son of God.
That’s the heart behind the song “Eyes Open Wide.” When Jesus reveals Himself, everything changes. What once seemed ordinary becomes full of meaning. What once seemed impossible suddenly feels possible in His presence.
Many times God is already moving in our lives, but we don’t always see it right away. Like the disciples, our faith grows as we begin to recognize His hand at work—through answered prayers, quiet miracles, and moments of unexpected grace.
Jesus is still revealing His glory today. The question is not whether He is working—it’s whether we are willing to see.
Ask Him today to open your eyes. When He does, you’ll start noticing His presence in places you never expected.
Reflection
Where might God already be working in your life that you haven’t fully recognized yet?
Prayer
Lord, open my eyes to see Your glory at work in my life. Help me recognize Your presence in the ordinary moments and trust You more deeply each day. Let my faith grow as I see Your hand moving around me. Amen.
