Come and Drink
📖 “On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, ‘If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.’” — Gospel of John 7:37

There is something powerful about the word anyone.

In this moment, during the Feast of Tabernacles, when water was being poured out in celebration and remembrance, Jesus stood up and made a bold declaration. He didn’t whisper. He cried out. He didn’t limit the invitation. He opened it wide.

If anyone thirsts…”

Thirst is universal. We thirst for peace when anxiety rises. We thirst for purpose when life feels routine. We thirst for love when loneliness creeps in. We thirst for hope when disappointment hits hard.

Your song Come and Drink echoes this invitation. It reminds us that Jesus is not offering a temporary fix or a shallow well. He is offering Himself. Not a cup that runs dry — but a living source that satisfies the soul.

The beauty of this verse is that Jesus does not say, “Come once and be done.” He says, “Come and drink.” It’s ongoing. Continuous. A daily drawing near.

You don’t have to earn the water.
You don’t have to clean yourself up first.
You don’t have to prove how thirsty you are.

You simply come.

And when you do, He fills what the world cannot. He refreshes what stress has drained. He restores what sin has stolen. He satisfies in a way nothing else can.

Today, if your heart feels dry, don’t look for substitutes. Don’t try to ignore the thirst. Let it lead you to Him.

Come. Drink. Be filled.

Prayer

Lord Jesus,
You see the places in me that are dry and weary. Thank You for inviting me without condition. I come to You today thirsty for Your presence, Your peace, and Your Spirit. Fill me again. Let Your living water flow through my life so that others can see Your goodness in me. I choose to come and drink.
Amen.
