Chosen & Alive
Scripture: First Epistle to the Thessalonians 1:2–5
“For we know, brothers and sisters loved by God, that He has chosen you, because our gospel came to you not simply with words but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and deep conviction.” — 1 Thessalonians 1:4–5
There is something powerful about knowing you are chosen.
The believers in Thessalonica weren’t perfect people. They lived in a difficult culture, surrounded by pressure and opposition. Yet the apostle Paul the Apostle reminded them of something foundational: they were loved by God and chosen by Him.
Their faith wasn’t just a set of ideas they agreed with. When the gospel reached them, it came with power. The Holy Spirit awakened their hearts, filled them with conviction, and brought them into a new life. They weren’t just informed—they were transformed.
That’s what it means to be chosen and alive.
When God calls us, He doesn’t leave us the same. His Spirit breathes life into our souls. Old patterns begin to fade, hope starts to rise, and faith takes root deep inside us. The gospel becomes more than words on a page—it becomes life in our hearts.
Sometimes we forget this truth. We may feel ordinary, overlooked, or unsure of our purpose. But God’s Word reminds us that our identity starts with Him. If you belong to Christ, you are loved, chosen, and filled with the life of His Spirit.
Your life is not random. Your faith is not accidental. God has called you, and His Spirit is still at work within you today.
So live with confidence. Walk with gratitude. And remember: the same power that first awakened your faith is the power that continues to sustain you.
You are chosen.
And in Christ, you are truly alive.
Reflection
When did you first sense God calling you to Himself?
Where have you seen the Holy Spirit working in your life recently?
How can you live today with the confidence that you are chosen by God?
Prayer
Lord, thank You for loving me and choosing me. Thank You that the gospel is more than words—it is power that brings life through Your Spirit. Help me live each day with gratitude and confidence, remembering that I belong to You. Fill me again with Your Spirit so that my life reflects the new life You have given me. Amen.
