Children of God
Scripture: John 1:12
"Yet to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God."
There is a powerful truth in this verse that can change the way we see ourselves and the way we approach God. Through Jesus, we are not simply forgiven sinners trying to earn God's approval—we are adopted into His family. When we believe in Christ, God gives us the incredible privilege of being called His children.
The song Children of God celebrates this identity. Our relationship with God is not distant or conditional; it is personal and rooted in love. Just as a loving father welcomes his child with open arms, our Heavenly Father welcomes us into His presence. We belong to Him.
In a world where many people struggle with identity, worth, and belonging, the gospel offers a life-changing answer. Our value does not come from success, recognition, or what others think of us. Our value comes from the fact that God Himself calls us His own.
Being a child of God also means we reflect our Father’s heart. We learn to love others, extend grace, and walk in the light of Christ. Our lives become a testimony that we are part of God’s family.
Today, remember who you are. If you have received Christ, you are not an outsider looking in. You are welcomed, loved, and chosen.
You are a child of God.
Reflection
How might your day change if you truly lived with the confidence that you are a beloved child of God?
Prayer
Father, thank You for welcoming me into Your family through Jesus. Help me live today with the confidence and peace that comes from knowing I am Your child. Let my life reflect Your love so others may see Your heart through me. Amen.
