Built In Love

Scripture: Epistle to the Ephesians 4:15–16

Speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into Him who is the head, into Christ… from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.” (Ephesians 4:15–16)

The song “Built In Love” echoes a powerful truth: we were never meant to grow alone.

Paul paints a picture of the Church as a living body—connected, supported, strengthened—under one Head: Christ. Growth is not random. It is not isolated. It is intentional and relational. We are built together, not stacked beside one another.

The phrase “speaking the truth in love” is the blueprint. Truth without love wounds. Love without truth weakens. But when truth and love meet, something strong is constructed—faith that matures, relationships that endure, and a church that reflects Jesus.

The song reminds us that love is not just a feeling; it is structural. It is foundational. It is the framework that holds everything together. Every act of encouragement, every correction spoken gently, every prayer offered quietly—these are beams in the house God is building.

Notice what the passage says: “as each part does its work.” You matter. Your obedience strengthens someone else. Your faithfulness reinforces the structure. When you choose forgiveness, when you serve, when you show grace—you are participating in divine construction.

Christ is the Head. Love is the framework. We are the living stones. And together, we are being built into something beautiful.

Today, ask yourself:

Am I speaking truth with love?

Am I allowing others to strengthen me?

Am I doing my part in what God is building?

You were designed to grow. You were designed to belong. You were designed to be Built In Love.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, You are the Head of the body. Teach me to speak truth with love. Shape my heart so that my words build up and not tear down. Help me to see where I fit in Your design and to faithfully do the work You’ve given me. Knit us together, strengthen what is weak, and build Your church in love. Amen.
