Brighter Still

Devotion: Brighter Still

Scripture

"The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day." — Proverbs 4:18

Reflection

Most of us wish God would show us the entire roadmap of our lives. We want answers before questions arise and certainty before we take the first step. But God often works differently.

The sunrise doesn't happen all at once. First there is a faint glow on the horizon. Then the darkness begins to retreat. Little by little, the light increases until the day is fully bright.

That is often how God guides His children.

He gives enough light for the next step. Then the next. And then the next.

Sometimes we become discouraged because we aren't where we want to be spiritually. We see our weaknesses, our failures, and the distance still ahead. Yet Proverbs 4:18 reminds us that growth in Christ is a journey of increasing light. The righteous path grows brighter, not dimmer.

If you belong to Christ, He is still working in you today. The fact that you're seeking Him is evidence of His grace at work. Trust His timing. Follow His voice. Walk in obedience.

The same God who lit the path yesterday will light the path tomorrow.

Keep walking.

The light is getting brighter still.

Prayer

Father,

Thank You for being the light that guides my life. When I cannot see the whole journey, help me trust You for the next step. Give me faith to follow where You lead and courage to keep moving forward when the path seems uncertain.

Thank You that Your work in me is not finished. Help me grow in wisdom, obedience, and love each day. Let Your light shine through my life so others may see Your goodness and glorify You.

No matter what I face, remind me that You are leading me toward greater light, greater faith, and a deeper relationship with You.

In Jesus' name,

Amen. 🙏
