Before Your Throne
Job 1:6
“Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them.” — Job 1:6
Before anything happened to Job—before the loss, before the grief, before the testing—there was a throne.
Job 1:6 pulls back the curtain and reveals a scene we rarely consider: heaven’s court. Spiritual beings present themselves before the Lord. Even the accuser must appear. Even the adversary answers to God. No one barges into His presence. No one operates outside His authority.
The song “Before Your Throne” echoes this truth: there is One seated above it all.
When life feels chaotic, when circumstances seem unrestrained, we must remember what Job could not see but later learned—God was still sovereign. The enemy had access, but not autonomy. Permission, but not power beyond limit. God set the boundaries.
This changes how we worship.
We don’t come before a distant deity.
We don’t bow before a nervous ruler.
We approach the throne of the Almighty King.
Before your trial, there is a throne.
Before your question, there is a throne.
Before your fear, there is a throne.
And it is occupied.
The enemy may accuse. Situations may shake. But heaven is not scrambling. God is not pacing. He is seated.
The song becomes our declaration:
“Before Your throne, I stand secure.
Before Your throne, my life is Yours.”
Today, whatever stands against you has already stood before Him. And it answers to His command.
Lift your eyes. See the throne.
And worship.
Prayer
Lord, You are seated on the throne above every circumstance in my life. Nothing surprises You. Nothing escapes Your authority. When fear rises, remind me that You reign. When the accuser whispers, remind me that You rule. Teach me to live and worship from the confidence that You are sovereign over all. I come before Your throne today—not in panic, but in trust. Amen.
