Appointed to Life (Acts 13:48)

Scripture:
“...and all who were appointed for eternal life believed.” — Acts 13:48

There’s something deeply humbling about this verse.

It flips the way we often think about faith. We tend to believe that we found God—that we figured it out, made a decision, chose wisely. But Acts 13:48 tells a different story.

God chose first.

Before you ever wrestled with doubt…
Before you ever prayed your first prayer…
Before you ever said “yes”…

He had already written your name into His story.

That means your faith isn’t an accident.
Your hunger for God isn’t random.
The way your heart responds to Him—that’s intentional.

You were appointed to life.

And that word “appointed” carries weight. It means set in place, marked out, established with purpose. God didn’t just hope you’d come to Him—He made a way for you to believe.

So when the song says:
“I believe ‘cause You chose me first…”
—it’s not just poetic. It’s truth.

Today’s Reflection:
Where in your life do you feel like things are random or uncertain? What if God has been working there all along?

Prayer:
God, thank You that my story didn’t start with me—it started with You. Thank You for choosing me, calling me, and opening my eyes to believe. Help me walk confidently in the life You’ve appointed for me. Amen.
