All Things New

All Things New

Scripture: Revelation 21:1–8

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth… He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain… He who was seated on the throne said, ‘Behold, I am making all things new.’” — Revelation 21:1, 4–5

Devotion

The promise of “all things new” is not just poetic language — it is God’s declared future.

In Book of Revelation 21, the Apostle John sees beyond brokenness, beyond history, beyond the weight of human failure. He sees restoration. Not renovation. Not patchwork repair. Complete renewal.

A new heaven.
A new earth.
A new order where pain no longer defines reality.

When we sing All Things New, we are not escaping present hardship — we are anchoring ourselves in eternal certainty. The same God who speaks the end from the beginning sits on the throne and says, “I am making all things new.”

That includes:

Your past mistakes

Your present sorrow

Your unanswered questions

Your silent prayers

Verse 4 tells us He will wipe away every tear. Not ignore them. Not minimize them. Wipe them away. That is deeply personal language. God does not just fix systems; He heals hearts.

But Revelation 21:6 also says, “It is done.” The victory is already secured. Through Christ, renewal has already begun. We live in the tension between what is and what will be — but hope is not wishful thinking. It is guaranteed by the One on the throne.

When we worship with this song, we’re declaring:

My story is not finished.
My pain is not permanent.
My Savior is not powerless.

He is making all things new — including me.

Reflection Questions

Where in your life do you most need the promise of renewal today?

Are you holding onto something God is ready to restore or release?

What would it look like to live today as someone destined for a new creation?

Prayer

Lord,
You are the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. Thank You that my story does not end in sorrow, but in renewal. When I feel overwhelmed by what is broken, remind me of what You have promised. Wipe away my fear. Restore my hope. Make my heart new even now as I wait for the fullness of what is to come.

I trust the One who sits on the throne.
I trust the promise: You are making all things new.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
