You Fed Me

Scripture: Matthew 25:35–40

Jesus surprised His listeners by identifying Himself with people the world often overlooks.

"I was hungry... I was thirsty... I was a stranger..."

The righteous were confused. They couldn't remember seeing Jesus in those situations. Yet Jesus explained that every act of love shown to "the least of these" was received as though it had been done for Him personally.

This changes the way we see everyday life.

Serving Christ isn't limited to singing in church, reading our Bible, or attending worship services. Those things are important, but genuine faith naturally overflows into compassionate action. A meal shared, a listening ear, an encouraging word, a visit to someone who is lonely, a helping hand when no one else notices—these become acts of worship.

The beauty of God's Kingdom is that He notices what others miss.

The world often celebrates the spectacular, but heaven rejoices over quiet faithfulness. A simple sandwich given with love. A glass of water offered in Jesus' name. A generous heart that expects nothing in return. These moments carry eternal significance because they reflect the character of Christ.

As followers of Jesus, we're called to see people the way He sees them—not as interruptions, but as opportunities to love.

Today, ask God to open your eyes. There may be someone near you who needs encouragement, kindness, or practical help. You may never know how deeply your obedience impacts another life, but God does.

Every act of compassion points people toward Him.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank You for showing me compassion when I was spiritually hungry and in need of Your grace. Help me notice those around me who need love, hope, and practical care. Make my hands willing to serve, my heart quick to give, and my eyes open to see You in every person I meet. Let my life reflect Your kindness so that others may experience Your love through me. In Your holy name,

Amen.
