Count the Cost
Scripture: Luke 14:28
“Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost…” (Luke 14:28)
Jesus wasn’t discouraging building—He was teaching wisdom before commitment.
In a world that rewards speed, impulse, and instant decisions, Jesus introduces something very different: pause before you build.
Not because God is restrictive—but because He is intentional.
Counting the cost is not about fear.
It’s about clarity.
It’s the moment we ask:
“Is this my idea or God’s direction?”
“Am I building for comfort or calling?”
“Will this still matter if God isn’t in it?”
Some things look good at the start but collapse under pressure. Others look small at first but stand strong because God is in the foundation.
Following Jesus isn’t just about believing—it’s about building your life on Him step by step.
And sometimes the most spiritual decision you can make is simply to slow down long enough to say:
“Lord, if You’re not in this, I don’t want it.”
Because what He builds in you will always outlast what you rush ahead and build without Him.
