Morning Begins with a Choice
Every morning presents us with a decision. Before the phone lights up with notifications, before the schedule fills our minds, before the worries of the day compete for our attention, we have the opportunity to lift our eyes to the One who gave us another day.
Praise isn't reserved for perfect mornings. It belongs in ordinary ones too.
Some mornings begin with excitement. Others begin with uncertainty, fatigue, grief, or unanswered questions. Yet God's character never changes. His love remains constant, His promises remain true, and His mercies are renewed with every sunrise.
When we choose praise first, we are not pretending life is easy—we are declaring that God is greater than whatever the day may bring.
New Mercies Every Morning
Lamentations reminds us that God's compassions never fail. They are new every morning.
Think about that.
God doesn't ask us to live today on yesterday's strength. He provides fresh grace for today's challenges, today's temptations, today's opportunities, and today's victories.
Each sunrise is an invitation to trust Him again.
No matter what happened yesterday, today begins with mercy.
No matter how many times we've stumbled, His grace is still available.
No matter how uncertain tomorrow appears, He is already there.
Praise Changes Our Perspective
The circumstances around us may not immediately change when we praise God.
But something inside us does.
Praise lifts our eyes above our problems.
It reminds us that God is still King.
It fills our hearts with gratitude instead of fear.
It replaces anxiety with confidence because we remember who walks beside us.
David often began his prayers by praising God before presenting his requests. He knew that worship places our focus where it belongs—not on ourselves, but on our faithful Father.
Starting the Day with Jesus
Imagine beginning every morning by saying:
"Lord, thank You for another day."
"Guide my words."
"Direct my steps."
"Help me love people the way You love me."
"Use me for Your glory."
Those simple prayers shape an entire day.
When our first thoughts belong to Christ, our hearts become more prepared for everything that follows.
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the gift of another morning. Thank You for new mercy, fresh grace, and the promise that You will never leave me. Before I face today's responsibilities, I choose to praise You. Fill my heart with gratitude, my mind with Your truth, and my life with Your peace.
Guide every decision I make. Let my words honor You and my actions reflect Your love. Help me notice opportunities to encourage others and point them toward Jesus.
May my life become a daily song of worship—not only with my lips but through the way I live.

Before you begin your day tomorrow, pause for just a few moments.
Open God's Word. Offer Him thanks. Sing if you can. Pray even if the words are simple.
Let your first conversation of the day be with the One who has already been watching over you through the night. May every sunrise remind you that God is faithful, His mercy is new, and He is always worthy of your morning praise.
