No Other Master
Scripture (Matthew 6:24)
Some things don’t shout—they quietly take over.
Money doesn’t always look like greed. Sometimes it just looks like pressure. Fear doesn’t always look like panic. Sometimes it just looks like control. Approval doesn’t always look like pride. Sometimes it just looks like needing to be liked. But Jesus said something clear and uncompromising:
“You cannot serve both God and money.” (Matthew 6:24)
He didn’t say it would be hard. He said it would be impossible. Because whatever holds your trust… becomes your master.
There comes a moment where you realize life has been quietly dividing your heart. One part is worshiping God. Another part is trying to survive without Him. And the tension is exhausting.
But Jesus doesn’t bring that truth to condemn you—He brings it to free you. Freedom isn’t having less responsibility. Freedom is having one Master.
One voice to follow. One source of peace. One King over everything.
When you choose Him again, you don’t lose control—you lose confusion.
And in that place, peace stops being something you chase and becomes Someone you know.
So today is simple:
Not “Lord, be part of my life,” but “Lord, be my life.” Because there is no other master worth the weight of your soul.
