Devotion:
Heaven Is My Home
Scripture
"But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ." — Philippians 3:20
Reflection
It's easy to become consumed by the pressures of everyday life. Bills, health concerns, relationships, disappointments, and uncertainty can make this world feel very heavy. When our focus stays only on what is happening around us, we can lose sight of the greater reality God has prepared for His people.
Paul reminds believers that our true citizenship is in heaven. That means our identity is not rooted in the changing circumstances of this world but in the unchanging promises of Christ. We belong to God's kingdom.
This doesn't mean we ignore the world around us. Instead, it means we live with eternal perspective. We work, serve, love, and share the Gospel while remembering that our ultimate destination is with Jesus.
The hope of heaven gives strength for today. Every trial has an expiration date. Every tear will be wiped away. Every promise of God will be fulfilled. One day faith will become sight, and we will stand face to face with our Savior.
Until then, we keep looking up.
Prayer
Father,
Thank You for reminding me that my true home is with You. When I become distracted by the worries and pressures of this world, lift my eyes to Your eternal promises.
Help me live as a citizen of heaven, reflecting Your love, grace, and truth wherever I go. Strengthen my faith as I wait for the return of Jesus. Let my hope remain secure, knowing that my future is in Your hands.
Thank You for preparing a place for all who trust in Christ. Keep my heart focused on You until the day I see You face to face.
In Jesus' name,
Amen.
