Spirit I’ve Been Given
Scripture: 2 Timothy 1:7
Devotion:
Fear is loud. It shows up uninvited and tries to convince you it belongs.
It sounds like: “What if this falls apart?”
“What if you’re not enough?”
“What if things never change?”
But Scripture is clear — fear isn’t from God.
That means when fear is speaking, it’s not telling you the truth about who you are.
God has already placed something inside of you:
Power — strength to stand and move forward
Love — the ability to respond beyond fear
A sound mind — clarity, peace, and stability
You’re not trying to earn this. You’ve already been given it.
The tension is this: fear may still show up, but it doesn’t get authority.
So today, when fear starts talking, don’t agree with it.
Answer it.
Remind yourself:
“That’s not the Spirit I’ve been given.”
And then take one step forward anyway.
Prayer:
God, thank You that fear is not from You. Help me recognize Your Spirit in me — power, love, and a sound mind. Teach me to walk in what You’ve already given, even when fear tries to speak louder. Amen.
