Still Blessed

Scripture: Matthew 5:10–11

Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.”

 Devotion

We don’t usually connect the word blessed with pressure.

We think blessed means open doors, favor, increase, peace and quiet.
But Jesus flips that definition upside down.

He says you’re blessed when you’re misunderstood for doing what’s right.
Blessed when people criticize you for standing on truth.
Blessed when following Him costs you something.

That doesn’t mean the pain isn’t real.
It just means the pain isn’t proof you’re losing.

In “Still Blessed,” we sing:
“If I’m standing with You, I’ve already won.”

That’s the Kingdom perspective. When you stand for righteousness, you’re standing with Christ — and Heaven sees it. The world may label you extreme, outdated, or naïve. But Jesus calls you blessed.

Why?

Because persecution confirms alignment.
It means your life reflects Him enough to be noticed.

And here’s the promise attached:
“Theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”

Not “will be.”
Is.

You already belong to something unshakable.

So when criticism comes, don’t shrink.
When pressure rises, don’t compromise.
When they talk, don’t bow.

Lift your head. You’re still blessed.

 Prayer

Jesus, help me see my life through Kingdom eyes.
When I’m misunderstood or criticized for following You, remind me that I belong to You.
Give me courage to stand firm without bitterness.
Teach me to rejoice, not retreat.
I trust that if I stand with You, I am already blessed.
Amen.
