Bigger Than Giants

Bigger Than Giants
Scripture: Book of Numbers 13:25–33

When the twelve spies returned from exploring the land God promised to Israel, they carried fruit so large it had to be carried on a pole between two men. The land was rich and overflowing with promise. But the report quickly turned from hope to fear.

Ten of the spies focused on the giants.

We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes,” they said.

Only two men—Joshua (biblical figure) and Caleb (biblical figure)—saw the same giants but came to a completely different conclusion. They believed that if God had promised the land, then no giant could stop them.

The difference wasn’t what they saw.
The difference was what they believed about God.

Fear magnifies the size of our obstacles. Faith magnifies the greatness of God.

In life we all face giants—situations that look impossible, intimidating, and far beyond our strength. The enemy loves to whisper the same lie the spies believed: You are too small. The giants are too big.

But the truth is this: the giants may be big, but our God is bigger.

The same God who parted the sea, led Israel by fire and cloud, and delivered them from Egypt had already gone before them into the land. Victory was never dependent on their strength—it was dependent on His promise.

The same is true for us today. When we fix our eyes on our problems, we shrink back in fear. But when we fix our eyes on God, we remember that no obstacle, no fear, and no enemy is greater than Him.

Whatever giant stands in front of you today, remember this: God has not called you to measure the size of the problem—He has called you to trust the size of His power.

Prayer

Lord, sometimes the giants in front of me feel overwhelming. Help me to see my circumstances through the lens of faith instead of fear. Remind me that You are greater than every obstacle I face. Strengthen my heart to trust Your promises and walk forward in courage. Amen.
